Owners Lisa & Joel, that’s us, live just a short walk or drive away in the village of Lagun and are waiting to make your stay memorable. Enjoy the apartment in our home for a more interactive visit, but still have a private kitchen and living space.

Located in a brand new gated community at the west end of Curacao, the house faces west on a cliff overlooking the Caribbean Sea for fabulous sunsets. Watch frigate birds following local fishermen and keep an eye out for leaping tuna, dolphins, and sometimes whales.

Bon bini! Welcome! We invite you to be our guests in our Caribbean home on the beautiful island of Curacao. Your master bedroom looks through the shady garden to the ocean. Bring your coffee out to the deck in the morning and watch the fishermen heading out to sea followed by the frigate birds and brown footed boobies. Glimpse a sea turtle cruising by or if you are lucky pods of whales or dolphins cruising up the coast. Walk through the neighbors backyard to access our shared stairs to the water and enjoy magnificent snorkeling right from home. Since we face west you won’t want to miss sunset out there followed by a night sky awash in stars.
Owners Joel and Lisa, that’s us, and our dogs Milo and Hucky live on the property and are happy to help you plan each new day’s adventure. We try to be mindful of your need for privacy but are around if you need help or have questions.

Sol Patch on Cayuga
Eclectic Lake House in the Fingerlakes Region of New York

This spacious, eclectic home on Cayuga Lake’s east side boasts spectacular sunset and lake views from all of its many decks, its Florida room and the master bedroom. The property includes a boat dock, huge decks (covered and uncovered) and both shallow and deep water entry sites for swimming. Unlike many lake homes in the Finger Lakes region there are no stairs nor a steep climb from the parking area to the house.
Each of the three bedrooms has its own full bath. The large master bedroom on the second floor has a queen size bed, one first floor bedroom has a queen bed and the other has one full and one single bed. In addition, there is a trundle bed with two singles on the sun porch. All mattresses are new and the house easily sleeps 8.

Over the years, we’ve gathered a trusted list of favorite places, people, and products that make life in the Finger Lakes even richer—from local restaurants serving unforgettable flavors, to wineries, brew pubs and little extras that bring comfort and joy to your stay. These aren’t ads or paid shout-outs—they’re simply recommendations we personally vouch for, shared so your time on the lake feels less like a vacation and more like home.
Eats & Treats:
It’s easy to lose track of all the wineries, brew pubs, distilleries and eateries in the Fingerlakes region of New York. Below are just some of our favorites that are very close to King Ferry and the lake house.
For the best ice cream in the area visit Cream at the Top. You’ll be amazed at the flavor choices and the beautiful sitting areas but be prepared to wait in line – people drive for miles for this ice cream. Open Memorial Day through Labor Day.
An old fashioned general store with wood floors and a variety of groceries, fishing worms and made to order sandwiches.
A charming general store with a large selection of homemade gifts from jewelry to afghans, honey, pottery and aprons. The King Ferry Corner Store also has a take out menu and a large selection of homemade cookies and treats. Don’t miss it.
Fabulous locally brewed beer, a wood fire pizza oven and other delicious lunch and dinner items. Aurora Brewing often has great local music as well.
Great wines, great food, great local music and great views of the lake. Bright Leaf is the closest vineyard to the cottage (just down the road and actually within walking distance) and we love it there.
Great wines, food and local music with a big, outdoor dance floor. Keep an eye on their offerings including trivia nights and other fun events.
Upscale dining and spa in beautiful Aurora NY just north of the lake house.
A favorite in Aurora; hang out at the bar, dine in or eat on the beautiful back patio.
In Lansing (about 1/2 way into Ithaca) is a beautiful old hotel where you can dine right out on the front porch. It’s really lovely.
Activities & Adventures:
The Fingerlakes region is known for its hiking trails, gorges and waterfalls; hence the bumper sticker “Ithaca is Gorges”
Some of our favorites near the lake house include:
Great Gully – just north of Aurora on route 90 is a lovely walk through a stream to a waterfall.
Carpenter Falls/Bahar Nature Preserve – at the south end of Skaneateles Lake.
And then there are those closer to Ithaca
Treman State Park – we recommend going to ‘Upper Treman” – just follow the signs.
Taughannock Falls – wade up the creek or follow the path to the highest waterfall east of the Mississippi.
Other interesting Items:
A whimsical assortment of handpainted housewares and furniture and lovely gardens to stroll through, Mackenzie Childs is well worth the visit.
In nearby Locke is a you-pick fruit farm and gift shop – loads of fun for adults and kids alike.
Gourdlandia, in Ithaca, is an amazing place … whimsical and artistic, where you can join a workshop and make a nightlight or hanging lamp from an African gourd. Check out the website. You have to see it to believe it. Great for a rainy day!
